What can you reach with recording your personal financial transactions? You can figure out how much you pay for your car’s fuel monthly, or you can answer the deep question of where money goes which confuses everyone. As for me, I desire to reach the simplest method which a person can follow his personal financial transactions and benefits from it.
Highlights of 2018:
– Total expenses were 90.20% of total revenue.
– Food expenses were 10.01% of total revenue.
– Car maintenance expenses were 6.82% of total revenue.
– Games expenses were 4.16% of total revenue.
– “Others” expenses were 22.03% of total revenue. The percentage is too high, and it’s required to lower it next year.
– Car Fuel expenses were SAR 3,448.
– Telecom expenses were SAR 1,845,90. This means saving SAR 2,945.10 compared to the SAR 400 well known package.
Highlights of the development of the Financial Book 2019:
I believe the Financial Book 2018 is the simplest book to record the personal financial transactions. The book is so simple that it’s only column for items and rows for days. Therefore, this design is facing issues with several bank and saving accounts and subsidiary items. Focusing on these issues, I started looking for a design which solves the issues and keeps the simplicity.
Using Google Sheets, I started designing the Book to suit the phone vertical screen because I mostly use the Book on my phone. As a result, the items and days are switched to be column for days and rows for items. In addition, I made groups so I can hide or unhide items of the groups, and the main row of each group contains the totals of its items. For example, Bills Group contains water bill and electricity bill with the ability to hide or unhide the bills details.Besides, I focused on the bank accounts and income sources. I made the rows for the accounts with subsidiary if needed, so I can record transactions between banks and cash withdrawal, also recording cash payments became more accurate. Furthermore, I added rows for non expenses payments such as loans.
All of these developments, which I have benefited from since the beginning of the year, increased a little complicity to the recording process. However, this complicity is to achieve better and more accurate results which is the most important goal.
